Climate Risk Disclosure by US Industrial Companies

An InfluenceMap report

November 2015

The current probe by the US New York Attorney General into corporate disclosure of climate change risk to investors has brought the general issue of climate risk communications by companies into focus. In light of the ExxonMobil case, we queried our database to see what the top 20 US industrial companies are saying about climate risk to regulators and investors. The research, backed by analysis of over 20,000 points of evidence, also examined a variety of other channels corporations use to disclose business risk such as CEO messaging, annual reports and the CDP process.
