In the seven years after the Paris Agreement, most fossil fuel companies produced more fossil fuels than they did in the seven years before the Agreement’s adoption. Just 57 corporate and state entities were linked to 80% of fossil fuel and cement CO2 emissions from 2016 through 2022. These findings come from Carbon Majors, the database of historical production data from the world’s largest fossil fuel & cement producers, made accessible under InfluenceMap’s new website carbonmajors.org.

In this webinar, InfluenceMap’s researchers will overview the Carbon Majors platform & data and explore its use cases, including in campaigns, legal cases, and academic research. Dr. Shaina Sadai from the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) will explore how UCS and other academics have already used the data and how researchers can use it going forward.
