Seminar Outline

Join InfluenceMap and the Corporate Renewable Energy Initiative (CoREi) in this in-person seminar for corporations, bringing together Korean and European companies from across the renewable energy supply chain (from producer to end-user). Attendees will be able to discuss mutual priorities and strategies around improved regulatory environment for renewable energy in Korea. This session will provide an opportunity for Korean and European companies operating in Korea to discuss the policy-related opportunities and challenges regarding renewable energy supply and usage in the country. It also opens the floor to both corporate groups to find a process for reviewing climate policy positions within their business, and to discuss concrete policy demands that may help to enable accelerated renewable energy expansion in the country.

Prior to co-founding climate change think tank InfluenceMap, Dylan established a market-leading environmental consultancy in Tokyo which is now ERM Japan. Dylan grew and led a 50-person team engaging in a wide variety of corporate and technical advisory work in Japan and Asia covering environmental audits, land remediation, corporate sustainability and climate strategies. Prior to founding ERM Japan, Dylan established an information-based consulting firm advising global corporations on emerging environmental issues in Asia-Pacific.

Director of Investor Practice

Monica Bae is Director of Investor Practice at AIGCC (Asia Investor Group on Climate Change). She manages collaborative engagement with investors in Asia to build capacity and integrate climate-related issues in investment processes, and to increase capital flow into decarbonisation to align with a 1.5 degrees future. She oversees work across several thematic focus areas relating to Paris-aligned investments, energy transition, and forest & land use. She is passionate in facilitating the development of sustainable investments in Asia and is part of global and regional coalitions of leading financial institutions that spearheads sustainable finance initiatives.

Principal Researcher

As a Principal Researcher at the Korea Sustainability Investing Forum (KoSIF), Taehan is in charge of the Korea program of CDP, a global climate information disclosure NGO. He is in charge of the Korean partner role of global initiatives such as RE100, SBTi, and PCAF, and participated in the revision of the National Pension Act for ESG investment by the National Pension Service. He is currently preparing KoSIF’s ESG financial report and coal financial report.

Jong Phil Kim works as a Sustainability Strategy Team Leader at LG Chem, establishing LG Chem's sustainability strategy and responding to external evaluations. He worked as a CSR/Sustainability advisor at the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies (IPS) and at Korea Standards Association (KSA) from 2014 to 2019, as well as an International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) advisor at Korea Accounting Institute (KAI) in 2022.

Gihwan Eun started his career at VI Asset Management in 2008, continued at Truston Asset Management, and currently works at Hanwha Asset Management as a Portfolio Manager, managing a fund that invests in listed stocks. He started to make climate investments focusing on climate crisis response and energy transition from 2019, planned and launched the Hanwha Green Hero Fund in 2020, and currently operates the fund as a responsible manager. Hanwha Green Hero Fund is a fund that invests in climate crisis response industries such as solar power, wind power, electric vehicles, secondary batteries, ESS (Energy Storage System), hydrogen, and heat pumps, and it invests in listed stocks around the world. As the energy transition to respond to the climate crisis will continue for more than several decades and the climate risk in the financial market will gradually increase, this fund is particularly suitable for long-term funds such as pensions.

Jaehyuk Choi specialized in renewable energy, Business Development, Project Management, Domestic/International Tenders and risk analysis. He has a solid technical background thanks to operation and maintenance experience.
