Climate Lobbying in the Trump Era

An InfluenceMap Report

January 2017

This report looks at how corporate America has lobbied climate policy and regulations following the US election, both positively and negatively. Evidence shows many powerful US industry associations have seized the chance to message against climate change regulations following November 8th and push for policies that will favor the fossil fuel economy. There has been a clear but less focused response from companies who strongly supported the UN Climate Treaty, including a message to Trump and world leaders on the topic by over 100 US-based firms. The report also looks ahead at the climate policy calendar for 2017 and speculates on some potential outcomes.
